The study examines all the manuscripts as well as other souces of the dialogues "Vitarum Auctio" and "Piscator". After describing the manuscripts, the author examines readings in great detail to determine which manuscripts are necessary and sufficient for establishing the text. Following sections deal with orthographical matters and names of persons. The work relegates to subsidiary status the patterns of 'series operum' in the manuscripts, and even the establishment of a stemma takes second rank.
