The first volume lists 2185 books printed before 1701 and the first 2074 of 6666 books printed between 1701 and 1800. The second volume then lists the remaining 4592 books printed between 1701 and 1800. The catalogue concisely points to the books' provenance as well as the date and circumstance of their purchase. The introduction deals with methodological aspects and provides a short cultural history of the London book trade. An appendix provides an index of names, an index of members of the London, Dutch and German book trade and a chronologically ordered list of booksellers' catalogues. Zwei Bände, zus.
