Slodowicz, Szymon: Control in Polish Complement Clauses

This book presents an analysis of complement control in Polish. The investigation of different types of complement clauses leads to the conclusion that control, depending on the type of construction, can be explained lexically or syntactically. Arguments for syntactic or lexical motivation of control follow from the examination of the arguments involved in the control relation, i.e. the Controller and the controllee. In addition, the study looks in detail at how control constructions relate to other similar constructions.
