The Partisans and the War in Italy

Beyond seeking to assess the partisan struggle in terms of the clash of regular armies in Italy, this study is concerned with the ideological aspects of the Partisan Movement. It was political ideology that placed the Italian Partisan Movement within a context that includes the policy of appeasement, the Munich Agreement of September, 1938, and the Spanish Civil War as well as some of the more salient political and military decisions of the Second World War itself.
